Fix the ‘no Internet, secured’ problem


There are many ways to fix this problem. It’s a good idea to run through each of the below options, as any of it can fix the problem. It’s just that you don’t know which one will work for every occurrence of this error!
Since it is hard to pin down the exact cause of this error, you’ll have to try one or more of these solutions.

Change the property of your WiFi connection

Follow the steps below to change the properties of your connection.
  • Hold the Windows key and press the letter “R.” In the run window, enter “ncpa.cpl” and click OK.
  • This will open the “network connections” window.
  • Choose your WiFi connection, right-click on the WiFi and choose “properties.”


  • In this dialog box, ensure that the following options are checked.
  1. Client for Microsoft networks
  2. File and printer sharing for Microsoft networks
  3. Link-layer topology discovery mapper I/O driver
  4. Internet protocol version 4, or TCP/IPv4
  5. Internet protocol version 6, or TCP/IPv6
  6. Link-layer topology discovery responder
  • Next, click on the network icon and locate the WiFi network that’s giving this error
  • Unplug any Ethernet cable connected to your computer
  • Enable airplane mode on your computer
  • Restart the WiFi router
  • After the WiFi router is up, disable the airplane mode on your computer
  • Next, connect to the Wi-Fi connection again and it should work

Update the network adapter

Sometimes, an outdated driver can prevent your computer from connecting to the Internet. To fix:
  • Press the Windows key + R and type “devmgmt.msc” in the Run dialog box. Press enter and this will open the device manager window
  • In this window, double-click on “network adapters” to expand it
  • Identify the network adapter that your computer is currently using, right-click on it and choose “update driver software”


  • In the “update driver” dialog box, click on “search automatically” option. Windows will search for the updated driver software
  • Next, open “network and sharing center.” To open, right-click on the network icon in your computer’s notification area and choose “open network and sharing center”
  • Look for “change adapter settings” in the left-hand menu and click on it
  • Next, right-click on your wireless network and choose “properties”
  • Uncheck the Internet protocol version 6 (TCP/IPv6) to disable it. Click OK


  • Close the window and restart your computer. Now, you should be able to access the Internet
If you’re not able to access the Internet still, try uninstalling your network adapter. To do that:
  • Open the device manager and double-click on network adapters to expand it
  • Locate the network adapter you’re using for Internet connection, right-click on it, and choose “uninstall.” This will uninstall the network adapter from your computer
  • Next, look for a menu item called “action.” right at the top of the pane. Click and choose “Scan for hardware changes.” Windows will automatically scan and detect the network adapter and will even install it for you
  • Wait for the installation and then, restart your computer
This should fix any network adapter-related problems.

Modify the TCP/IP properties

If you’re unable to connect to your Internet, and if you’re using Windows 10 creators’ update or Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, try changing the TCP/IP settings.
  • Hold the Windows key and press the letter “R.” In the run window, enter “ncpa.cpl” and click OK
  • This will open the “network connections” window
  • Identify your WiFi connection, right-click on it and choose “properties”
  • Double-click the Internet protocol 4 or TCP/IPv4
  • Choose “obtain an IP address automatically” and “obtain DNS server automatically” options
  • Next, click the “advanced” button. You can find it on the right-hand bottom of the dialog box
  • Go to a tab called “WINS”
  • Scroll down to NetBIOS setting and choose “enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP” setting. Click OK on all the dialog boxes.
Close out of everything. Wait a few minutes and open the network adapter again. This time, the IPv4 connectivity should be in “Internet” state, and this should open any web page for you.

Change power management properties

Another possible cause of the “no Internet, secured” error could be due to power management settings. You’ll most likely face this problem if you’re using Windows 10 creators update or Windows 10 Fall Creators Update versions. To work around this problem:
  • Press the Windows key + X to get to the jump list
  • Select device manager and expand network adapters
  • Double-click your wireless network and go to “power management” tab
  • Uncheck the “allow computer to turn off this device to save power” option
  • Restart your computer and check if you can connect to the Internet now.

Disable WiFi sharing software

In Windows 10, the router driver can have a conflict with the wireless driver and this can throw up "no internet, secured" error. To fix this conflict,
  • Open network adapters. Right-click on the wireless network you’re using and choose “properties”
  • Click on “sharing” tab
  • Uncheck “Microsoft network adapter multiplexor protocol” and any other item related to WiFi sharing. To know which items are related to sharing, click on each item and below, you’ll get a description of its purpose. Based on this description, choose the items you have to uncheck
  • Close out of network adapters and try connecting to the Internet
Yes, the “no Internet, secured” error is a common error. You’ll most likely get it in Windows 10 than in other versions. Since many changes in configuration settings can cause this error, you’ll have to run through different options to get a fix. Fix System Service Exception in Windows 10, 8.1 and 8

This blue screen of death arises due to drivers issue especially graphics drivers like AMD or NVIDIA problem. Else, Some incompatible or problematic programs and updates may cause this BSOD. However, If you can find out the culprit, It will be easier to repair this error.


Fix System Service Exception in Windows 10, 8.1, 8

People face System Service Exception due to AMD or NVIDIA graphics driver problem and any windows updates like KB2778344 more. Anyway, Before proceeding to actual methods, I recommend you to disable your antivirus program, disconnect external USB devices and run chkdsk command and see If it gives the positive signal. In case, You are facing system service exception due to Virtual Box, You can try to repair this program. Because It also may help you. If you have already tried these things or these are not relevant to you, Follow these instructions below to fix system service exception.

If you know which things are causing the problem, It will be easier to fix. So, You can simply create minidump file in windows. After creating, Analyze minidump file to know which drivers or services are responsible for system service exception. This will make much easier troubleshoot this problem. Anyway, Follow these methods to know more about how to troubleshoot system service exception.
Method 1: Install Compatible Driver Software

You need to do all processes in safe mode with networking. Normally, you can’t turn on your PC in safe mode. Because, the advanced boot menu is disabled in windows 10, Windows 8 and 8.1. After enabling advanced boot menu, turn on your PC in safe mode with networking. Then you can fix system service exception BSOD error.

  1.     Once your PC started in safe mode, Open device manager from the control panel. Just go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound and open Device Manager.
  2.     In device manager find any drivers’ name with the yellow sign.
  3.     If you see any driver with the yellow sign from the list, just uninstall it and install it again with the latest driver software.
  4.     If you have AMD or NVIDIA graphics card, Try to update it to the latest version. Even, Intel HD graphics driver problem can be responsible for this BSOD. In that case, You will need to update this driver to latest version.
  5.     Now restart your PC.


This method will fix system service exception BSOD error. But if your system service exception error is due to an update number KB2778344 or anything else, you will have to follow method 2. 

Method 2: Remove Security Update KB2778344 to Fix System Service Exception

  • Start your PC in Safe Mode.
  • Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features and click on View installed updates.
  • Now right click on  Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB2778344) and Select Uninstall to remove this update.
  • In Uninstall an update confirmation box, click on Yes.
  • After uninstalling, restart your PC.
It should fix system service exception blue screen error.

Method 3: Uninstall Recently Installed Programs or Update:

It is possible that your problem has been caused by any program that you have installed recently. Else, Most recent windows update may not go through the right way. As a result, It may cause system service exception blue screen problem. I’ve already discussed it in method 2. So, To get rid of system service exception, You should uninstall most recently installed software or update. It totally depends on your situation. If you can’t access your PC normally, You will have to do it in safe mode.

Method 4: Disable Google Update Services

You may become surprised that Google automatic update services can cause “system service exception”. To fix this problem, You must try to disable google update services and check if it resolves the issue. I know that is useful service to keep your browser up to date. But a simple sacrifice may help you a lot. Anyway, Here is how you can do it –
  • First of all, Press Windows Key + R from the keyboard.
  • Type msconfig and hit Enter.
  • Click on Services tab.

  • Now, Find and uncheck Google Update Service.
  • Click on Apply and OK.
  • Restart your PC and see you have just overcome the nightmare system service exception.

Method 4: Repair Corrupted or Missing System Files

If your important system files are missing or corrupted, You may encounter this BSOD. In this case, You will need to repair corrupted or missing system files. It is very easy. To do it –
  • Open Command Prompt as admin. To do it, Just right click on command prompt and select run as administrator. If you are in windows 10 or 8.1, Right click on Start Button and select Command Prompt (Admin).
  • Now, Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
  • It will automatically fix the system files problem.
In the meantime, This command will also fix system service exception.

Method 5: Troubleshoot with Driver Verifier

Method 6: Update Drivers and BIOS

You also may need to update your drivers and BIOS. A recent update of windows may create conflict with your older drivers. So, I always recommend you to update drivers. You will get instructions on your computer manufacturer website about BIOS update. If you are running an Intel processor, You can download Intel driver utility and install it in your PC. Method 7: Fix Registry

You can fix registry of your windows by any trusted application like CCleaner. Fixing registry may help you to fix system service exception.

Some other Fixes for System Service Exception:

You may see specific driver names along with this error. In that case, You may need to uninstall/disable some software and drivers. Here are details.

1. Fix System_Service_Exception (ks.sys):

You see a specific name ks.sys with the error name. If above methods fail to fix the problem, You can disable your webcam from device manager in order to fix it. To do it –
  • Press Windows Key + X and select Device Manager.
  • Now, Find the WebCam driver and right click on it. Then select Disable.
After disabling webcam, You may still face the problem. Especially, In windows 10, McAfee and any other, any virus may cause system_service_exception (ks.sys) problem. So, You may need to completely remove your antivirus temporarily to check if it helps. Every antivirus should have a tool to remove them completely from your PC. For Example: If you have just uninstalled McAfee from your PC, Run this tool to remove it completely. Then restart your PC and see the problem has gone away. If you have installed any virtual drive software, You also can temporarily uninstall it and see what happens.

2. Fix System Service Exception (ntfs.sys):

Your Bit Defender antivirus and any VPN client, You can uninstall them to fix this error with the specific driver name ntfs.sys. Asus Laptop or PC users may have a software named Asus GameFirst Service. It may cause this error. So, You can uninstall it.

3. System Service Exception during Playing Video Game or HD Video:

It is very common that you may face it during play a video game. In that case, If you have installed MSI Live Update and Xsplit software, You can uninstall them. You also may need to update your video drivers.

Alternative Method to Fix System Service Exception:

Alternatively, At first, you can perform clean boot. It will help you to know if any third-party service is causing the error system service exception. If it doesn’t help, You can restore your windows to an earlier state to fix system service exception.
If none of these methods work, You will have the option to reset windows. In many cases, It “fixes system service exception” error.

Legacy Advanced Boot Menu in Windows 10

Sometimes you may need to access in advanced boot menu of your windows PC. But in windows 8, 8.1 and windows 10, advanced boot menu is disabled by default. That means pressing F8 or Shift+F8 may not work. As a result, you can’t turn on your PC in safe mode. You have to enable legacy advanced boot menu in windows 8/8.1 and windows 10 manually.

Enable Legacy Advanced Boot Menu in Windows 8/8.1/10:

To enable legacy advanced boot menu in windows, you have to follow a few steps given below-
  • At first you need your windows installation DVD or pen drive. Insert it in your PC.
  • Now restart your PC.
  • Now press F12 or F10 (Depends on your PC) to open boot menu.
  • Select boot from CD/DVD or USB Storage drive and press enter.
  • Now you may see an dialogue ‘Press any key to continue’. Then press any button from your keyboard.
  • Now you will see windows setup box. Click on Next.
  • Then click on Repair your computer.
  • Now choose an option and click on troubleshoot.
  • Then click on advanced option.
  • In advanced option, click on command prompt.
  • In command prompt, type c: and press enter from your keyboard.
  • Now type BCDEDIT /SET {DEFAULT} BOOTMENUPOLICY LEGACY and press enter to enable legacy advanced boot menu.


  • After completing the process of enabling legacy advanced boot menu, type EXIT in command prompt and press enter.
  • Now back to Choose an option screen and click on Continue. Your PC will be restarted.
  • Eject your windows installation DVD or disconnect your Pendrive.
  • Done.

    Verify Advanced Boot Menu:

    Restart your PC and press F8 continuously. If you see a black screen with some new options included safe mood, you should be sure that you have enabled legacy advanced boot menu successfully.
